MV Rena Grounding (2) – Astrolab Reef – Bay Of Plenty

Engaged by UK-based Braemar Howells as the in-country manager to recover distressed cargo from seafloor and beaches. Chartered & managed 14 vessels, work-class ROVs, dive spreads, helicopters and spotter aircraft.

Core project management team of 12 employed & coordinated 250 personnel.

Engaged by Svitzer Salvage to provide 150T Bollard Pull DP2 AHTS to assist in the Salvage Operation of MV Rena. UNIMAR chartered the vessel GO Canopus.

Anchor handling of crane barge and general standby duties at wreck site.

Appointed Lead Contractor for AWE’s Tui Field Inspection Program. UNIMAR sub-contracted Fugro-BTW to provide full Work Class ROV Spread & this was installed on UNIMAR vessel Marsol Pride.

De Beers Marine – Sea Bed Core Sampling - West Coast South Island

Engaged by De Beers Marine as South Island Service Provider during the establishment and execution of their Alluvial Core Sampling Campaign.

UNIMAR provided engineering fulfillment and fabricated a complex Heave Compensated LARS System. UNIMAR also provided the campaign vessel MPV Marsol Pride. This was Marsol Pride’s first project after UNIMAR took delivery of her February 2010.

OMV / Clough Maari WHP

Engaged by Clough to manage the arrival, float-off and assist with installation of the Maari Well Head Platform. Provide temporary mooring spread and personnel to MV Far Grip to install mooring for WHP in Admiralty Bay.

UNIMAR directly provided In-Field Support Vessel ‘Yarabah’ and Construction Support Vessel ‘Island Passage’ for the installation and hook-up phase operated from New Plymouth. Managed the importation and demobilisation of HLV Blue Marlin, mobilisation of Wet Tow Tugs ‘Salveritas’ and ‘Salviceroy’.

This included all visa and entry documentation and procedures required by NZ Customs, MAF and Bio-Security. Temporary Support Bases were established in Nelson and French Pass and local resources, plant and equipment were integrated into the supply chain during this phase of the project.

All hours audited. No LTIs. Mobilised and fitted out Geo Bay for strand recovery. This involved fabricating carousel, installing deck winches and commissioning equipment.

AWE – Tui FPSO Installation

UNIMAR was engaged by AWE as In-Country Manager for the management and crewing of Construction Vessel – Normand Installer. Imported, unloaded, set-up and mobilised to Normand Installer 9-leg permanent mooring system for FPSO.

UNIMAR also set up and operated the supply base and provided additional temporary mooring for the Roroa FPSO. Provision of skilled labour, stevedores, engineering and back deck crew during the installation phase.

Technip - Kupe Pipeline Survey

UNIMAR were appointed subcontractor to Technip to undertake seabed survey. Chartered NIWA vessel MV Kaharoa, sub-contracted diving company and Fugro-BTW and produced bio-metric report and visual diver video footage.
